IBM and Minsait, an Indra company and a leader in digital consulting and business transformation, have announced the creation and launch of a Center of Excellence (CoE) for generative AI. Based on IBM's Watsonx AI and data platform, this initiative aims to accelerate the development and implementation of innovative use cases that drive the transformation of Spanish companies.

The two companies will focus on the development of different use cases and pilot projects, mainly focused on customer service, which will be carried out both within Minsait’s internal operations and in client environments using IBM technology. The main objective of these pilot projects is to validate the potential of generative AI for solving real-world problems, improving business processes, analyzing service quality and automating support processes to enhance the digital workplace in all sectors of the private and public economy. In this context, IBM's Watsonx AI and data platform will play a central role in these projects, enabling organizations to harness the power of AI to transform their operations.

IBM is helping to build responsible and governed artificial intelligence in organizations with its Watsonx platform, which is characterized by being open and giving clients the flexibility to choose the AI models they want to use — whether trained by IBM or the open community— - that best fit their use cases. It is hybrid, meaning clients can deploy their solutions either in a public cloud or on-premises, strengthening data protection, and it is reliable, ensuring transparency, accountability and governance principles.

"With this Center of Excellence for Generative AI, we underline our collaboration and partnership with key allies such as Minsait to develop innovative solutions that drive digital transformation and have a tangible impact on Spanish companies," said Raúl García, Ecosystem Leader for IBM in Spain, Portugal, Greece and Israel.

The creation of this Generative AI Center of Excellence builds on a solid collaboration between IBM and Minsait, who have been working together for years to innovate and transform the Spanish business landscape. As a precedent, IBM has developed a training offer for Minsait, consisting of online learning paths and face-to-face sessions, culminating in certifications and badges that enable the company’s experts to tackle different use cases with IBM’s technology.

The CoE as a use case accelerator

An important milestone in the development of new projects and MVPs (Minimum Viable Products) is the collaboration with IBM Client Engineering, the IBM engineering team dedicated to the joint development of solutions and pilot projects. This group of experts, supported by Minsait’s process specialists, brings significant added value to the initiative thanks to their extensive experience, deep understanding of customer needs, focus on innovation and agile methods.

Several use cases are currently being developed in the area of user service centers. Thanks to the generative, AI-based solution, the efficiency of the audit process has been significantly improved. This progress has significantly reduced the time spent on audits, increased the number of calls audited and enabled the manual selection of calls that require special attention.

For Ignacio Fernández, Global Director of Financial Services at Minsait, this ambitious undertaking "will allow us to accelerate the scaling of artificial intelligence in Spanish companies, hand in hand with a strategic partner like IBM, which will help us explore new horizons and business arrangements. The resources of both companies, from Minsait's industry expertise to IBM’s own AI and data platform Watsonx, offer a distinctive and transformative added value in the field of AI."

The joint initiative has been launched on an IBM Cloud architecture to leverage the agility and scalability of this environment. However, the architecture is designed to allow seamless migration to an on-premise environment, providing great flexibility as the collaboration evolves.
