The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, has shared his opinion on what product will “gradually” replace the smartphones that now share our daily lives and that today, it seems impossible that they can end up relegated to a drawer.

In 2012, smartwatches seemed to be called to replace cell phones but they never occupied that position although they remained as another precious item for sports. Twelve years ago, smartwatches incorporated, and still do, smartphone functions, but with a smaller size and discreet design. Although they have not unseated smartphones, they have remained a very useful accessory for many and a piece of junk for others.

🚨 Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg predicts smart glasses will replace phones by 2030

“Smart glasses are going to become the next major computing platform.

But Zuckerberg and Meta have introduced smart glasses, so did Apple. If two years ago Ray-Ban appeared in this glasses market thanks to an agreement with the creators of Facebook with a device with a five-megapixel camera, two speakers and three microphones.

With this letter of introduction and the work carried out by Zuckerberg, has led the founder of Facebook to ensure that “smart glasses will become the next big computing platform”, after presenting his Orion device.

This reasoning, Zuckerberg shared in X assuring that “sure you were once sitting at your office desk in front of the computer, but you still pick up and take your phone out of your pocket to do something, which you could have actually done from the PC” and that is the same thing that will happen with smart glasses. “There will come a point where your smartphone will be in your pocket more than out, I think that will happen during the 2030s and even if you can do the task more completely or better with your phone, users will opt for the convenience of glasses for that.”
