It was recently reported that Apple may introduce a subscription model for its artificial intelligence Apple Intelligence. This would mean that users would have to pay a fee to make full use of the functions. However, the introduction of this subscription model could still take some time.

This information comes from Mark Gurman, a well-known journalist specializing in Apple, who provided details in his recent column for Bloomberg. Gurman confirmed that Apple plans to charge up to 20 dollars per month for access to the most advanced features of Apple Intelligence. However, this change will not come into effect until 2027.

Apple Intelligence will be a paid service, but its launch will not be immediate. While Apple intends to charge a fee for full access to its AI service, Gurman noted that Apple Intelligence will initially be available to everyone for free. The company wants to take its time to fully develop this technology, and Apple Intelligence is expected to be fully operational by spring 2025. Initially, the service will be free, but as more sophisticated features are introduced— that warrant payment, Apple will introduce a subscription model.

What will these advanced features look like? One example could be an AI-based app that allows you to edit photos in seconds with impressive results. These types of features would justify a paid subscription.

It’s too early to talk about Apple Intelligence Premium as the first version of the service is not yet available. The launch in the US is expected in October, with Europe following in 2025. The first step will be the unveiling of the iPhone 16 in September, where Apple is expected to give new information about Apple Intelligence and its future development.
