Atlassian officially announced the availability of Rovo, its “AI teammate”, at the Team '24 Europe event in Barcelona. The assistant combines advanced search and chat capabilities, allowing users to automate tasks in tools such as Jira and Confluence, and also integrate with third-party applications such as Slack, Google Drive and GitHub. Rovo is part of the Atlassian Intelligence platform and promises to increase productivity by facilitating data management and process automation.

Smart agents and workflow customization

Rovo includes intelligent agents that can handle repetitive tasks such as reporting, OKR generation and release notes, freeing up time for employees to focus on more strategic activities. Around 20 agents are currently available, and users can create customized agents to suit their needs. Atlassian also plans to expand the capacity of these agents in its Marketplace, collaborating with companies such as Appfire and Zapier.

One of the highlights is that Rovo will be available not only to Atlassian users, but also to other teams, at no additional cost, expanding its accessibility and potential impact.

Advanced features for developers

Atlassian has also launched advanced AI features aimed at developers and project managers. A new AI agent can generate code plans and recommendations based on task descriptions in Jira, helping to streamline workflow and improve efficiency. They have also introduced the AutoDev tool, which identifies and corrects common programming problems and keeps the developer informed of every step they take.

Rovo reinforces Atlassian's commitment to artificial intelligence, making it easier to automate routine processes, create customized workflows and increase team productivity.
