Mavenir, the cloud-native network infrastructure provider shaping the future of networks, announces that it has developed an innovative Operations Co-Pilot that leverages the power of Generative AI (GenAI) to improve Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and optimize operational efficiency for communications service providers. This innovation, developed in collaboration with Nvidia and Amazon Web Services (AWS), demonstrates the potential of GenAI to effectively define an AI/Service Assurance operations platform that reduces the burden on operations, support and maintenance teams and improves their ability to meet SLAs.
Mavenir’s Operations Co-Pilot for RAN Service Assurance (RSA) automates network troubleshooting, enabling mobile operators to quickly and accurately identify issues and remediate detected network deficiencies before they become critical. Operations Co-Pilot significantly reduces manual troubleshooting efforts and development and maintenance timeframes, improving IT operations, service availability and the deployment of increasingly complex mobile networks.
By leveraging the power of GenAI with large language models (LLMs) trained on detailed key performance indicators (KPIs), counters, logs and traces from the network infrastructure, Mavenir is partnering with Nvidia and AWS to create a suite of Operations Co-Pilot solutions that will transform the operational management of telecom networks through intelligent automation. This new framework, based on Nvidia Tensor Core GPUs and the Nvidia AI enterprise software platform for generative AI on AWS, leverages Mavenir’s Open RAN architecture to provide access to multiple open interfaces that can provide the necessary data to train and optimize telecom-specific LLMs.
Bejoy Pankajakshan, Chief Technology and Strategy Officer at Mavenir, commented: "Our new Operations Co-Pilot framework has the potential to be a game changer for operators. It provides comprehensive predictive failure and root cause analysis capabilities with AI-driven precision and speed. This industry-first solution is built on the transformative foundation of Nvidia GPUs running on AWS and is enabled by Mavenir’s data accessible through various interfaces in Open RAN and Packet Core for complete end-to-end visibility."
Pankajakshan added: "The three main use cases of Core Dump Analysis, Log Similarity Search and Anomaly Detection in Logs can be leveraged together to maximize the gains from automated efficiency. Combining the insights from these trained LLMs will enable broader and deeper coverage of all fault and anomaly scenarios, leading to very early prediction of potential network problems. Furthermore, as these solutions evolve, the models are able to continuously learn and optimize based on user feedback and iterative training with more logs, KPIs and traces, promising even greater gains."
"In today’s dynamic digital landscape, generative AI is a force multiplier for organizations around the world,” said Chris Penrose, Global Head of Telco Business Development at Nvidia. "Mavenir’s framework, built on the Nvidia AI Enterprise platform to streamline AI development and deployment, will unlock new levels of operational efficiency for communications service providers."
