Starting next academic year, the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) will offer a Master's in Artificial Intelligence Applied to Marketing, Communication, and Media, in collaboration with the technology company Globant and Empower Talent. This program aims to train professionals in the field of marketing technology, known as MarTech, by providing the necessary tools to understand and apply the increasingly popular artificial intelligence (AI).
Training for the Future
María Concepción García Gómez, Vice-Rector for Continuing Education, Employability, and Entrepreneurship at UCM, emphasizes the importance of this new master’s program: “The Complutense University of Madrid considers the development of such degrees as one of its main strategic lines, which respond to the educational needs demanded by companies to cover new professional profiles, thereby reducing the gap between university and business.”
As a public university, UCM maintains a strong commitment to improving employability and educational innovation, collaborating with the best professionals in each field. In this case, the collaboration will be with Globant and Empower Talent, companies recognized for their experience in the technological and educational sectors. Pablo Monge, Vice President of Business Development and Strategy at Globant, comments: “We are proud to be part of this master's in artificial intelligence in the field of marketing and media. We are confident that it will be highly useful for communication professionals, who have seen these tools increasingly integrated into their daily work.”
Structure and Modalities of the Master’s Program
The master’s program, which will begin on November 8, will last for six months and will consist of five modules delivered in an executive format. To facilitate students' work-life balance, the course can be taken either in-person or online. This flexible approach is designed to meet the needs of working professionals, allowing them to acquire advanced knowledge without interrupting their job responsibilities.
The academic direction of the master’s program will be led by María Pilar Cousido González, Professor of Constitutional Law and Information Law at UCM, and Pablo Monge from Globant. Cousido González highlights the relevance of this program: “After five years of transferring knowledge about artificial intelligence to society through seminars, conferences, and internationally recognized degrees, it is time to take a big step forward by offering pioneering and robust inductive training to professional and institutional leaders.”
Impact and Opportunities
Pilar Cousido also emphasizes the responsibility that falls on future graduates of this program: “They have the responsibility to position our country among the world leaders in the use of AI in marketing, communication, and media. We take on the responsibility of training them with excellent, already established speakers. This is the moment.”
This master’s program promises to be a valuable addition to UCM's educational offerings, aligning with current and future labor market trends where artificial intelligence plays an increasingly crucial role. With the participation of recognized experts and a practical approach, the program aims to equip professionals to lead the integration of AI in marketing, communication, and media, thus strengthening Spain's position in the global technology landscape.
