Clockwise, the smart scheduling and calendar tool, has revamped its interface by incorporating an AI-powered assistant called Prism. This new feature allows users to manage scheduling conflicts, create or delete events in bulk, and convert task lists into calendar blocks through text commands.

Like other startups such as YC-backed Vimcal and Reclaim, which was recently acquired by Dropbox, Clockwise focuses on optimizing work schedules for teams, though it can also be used individually.

Advanced AI Features

Prism, the new assistant from Clockwise, transforms written instructions into calendar events. For example, by typing a request like "Create a link to schedule a meeting with Severian next week," Prism generates a link or a text block to share availability. Additionally, if the suggested time for a meeting conflicts with another event, the tool proposes an alternative time slot.

Another key feature of Prism is the ability to share a link with suggested meeting times, allowing participants to respond and easily view potential conflicts. For urgent meetings, Prism can review different team members' schedules and select the optimal time, automatically rescheduling any conflicting events.

Prism also allows users to schedule tasks from a to-do list directly into the calendar, with the option to move them if a meeting arises. Furthermore, if it's necessary to schedule similar meetings with multiple people, users can simply type a command like "Schedule 15-minute one-on-ones with Frank, Robin, Nami, and Tony," and the assistant takes care of the rest.

Advanced Scheduling Technology

Matt Martin, CEO of Clockwise, explained that the company has developed a custom scheduling engine that interacts with natural language queries, identifying conflicts and proposing the most suitable times for tasks and meetings. Martin highlighted that many startups attempt to simply connect language models to Google Calendar APIs, often resulting in ineffective tools. However, after seven years of development, Clockwise has built the most advanced scheduling engine in the world, enabling Prism to make quick and reliable decisions.

Clockwise offers Prism free of charge to all its users and is working on deeper integration with Google Calendar, as well as better support for weekly scheduling.
