AI has become an indispensable technology for companies driven by big data. With the proliferation of companies generating record volumes of documents, AI makes it possible to process and analyze this data quickly and efficiently, providing valuable insights that support decision-making. In fact, AI is crucial to the foundations of today's business processes: thanks to this technology, companies can automate systems, analyze large volumes of data and make predictions.
And AI offers companies not only greater precision in the decisions they make, but also the opportunity to be proactive. It regulates changes in consumer behavior before they appear, while at the same time predicting recent business projects that may not be successful (revolutionizing the way business operations are carried out).
With the revolution that artificial intelligence is bringing to the business world, it is inevitable that there will be fairs and events so that we can get closer to what is new in the sector.

A major event for AI in data
Chief Data Officer Day, the largest event for data professionals, organized by iKN Spain, returned for its 11th anniversary in Madrid in 2024. The conference aimed to create a meeting point to learn about all the latest developments in data, how to create the best data experience and how to move from a data-driven company model to an AI-driven company. Events like this seek to respond to real business needs by making informed decisions, as well as identifying the new challenges, risks and opportunities of generative AI tools.
The event was attended by over 600 participants and 60 speakers, including representatives from the Data and Innovation departments of major companies such as Deutsche Bank, Naturgy, Cepsa, Nationale-Nederlanden, Iberdrola, Banco Santander, Repsol, among many others.
Throughout the numerous stands, employees from IBM or Pue, among other brands, explained the multiple applications they have given to AI by working with a great value, sometimes hidden, that all companies have: data. From large and complex language models connected to company code (providing precise answers without the need for programming knowledge), to solutions that unify the different databases of large companies into a large "digital data library", the proposals seen at Chief Data Officer Day were of the most varied kind.
In addition to the stands, the day included successive talks and expert panels in two adjacent rooms. The first was the Blue Room - Data Culture Session, which focused on intelligent data management and the application of AI; while the second was the Red Room - Data Trends Session, which focused on the new challenges of data management. Some of these conferences were very interesting, such as the one led by Sergio Rodriguez, CTO of Pue, which focused on the application of AI in vital sectors such as medicine. The talk discussed the case of GenAI Doctor, an AI that seeks to improve diagnosis and patient care by focusing on developing precise questions based on symptom descriptions.
As for the expert panels, the one held between 20 minutes and two hours on Big Data and AI was particularly noteworthy. It focused on the keys to the long-awaited hyper-personalization of the customer, investigating how AI could help create more accurate profiles and lead to a higher customer satisfaction rate. Within the points of this discussion, the information collection methods that were discussed are the most elaborate and promise to provide in-depth analysis from data across many contact channels.
In short, artificial intelligence is driving a new era of innovation in data management that allows companies to take advantage of the enormous value hidden in their information. Events such as Chief Data Officer Day not only transform internal business processes, but also offer innovative solutions to today's technological challenges.
