The artificial intelligence company Anthropic has announced the launch of a new subscription plan for its chatbot, Claude, aimed at enterprise customers seeking greater administrative control and enhanced security. Claude Enterprise will compete directly with OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise, which was launched roughly a year ago. This new plan allows businesses to upload internal information into Anthropic's chatbot. Based on that information, Claude can analyze it, answer questions, create graphics, simple web pages, or function as a company-specific assistant.
Competition in the Enterprise Market
Anthropic is looking to position Claude at the same level as ChatGPT by offering similar features. Although OpenAI has been in the market longer, Anthropic has released several tools that match its competitor’s capabilities. In May, the company introduced Claude Team, a plan similar to ChatGPT Team, designed for small businesses to collaborate on projects. Since then, Anthropic has developed mobile apps for iOS and Android. Now, with the launch of Claude Enterprise, the company seeks to directly compete with OpenAI’s enterprise plan, which has been widely adopted by Fortune 500 companies.
Despite these similarities, Claude Enterprise offers features that set it apart. Its context window can process up to 500,000 tokens, allowing it to analyze large volumes of data in a single interaction, such as 200,000 lines of code or 100-page documents. This capacity is double that of ChatGPT Enterprise and the Claude Team plan.
Advanced Integration and Security
Claude Enterprise also provides useful integrations for tech companies, such as GitHub synchronization, which enables engineering teams to access code repositories. This allows Claude to collaborate on software development projects, such as onboarding new engineers, creating features, or resolving bugs.
Additionally, Claude Enterprise offers administrative features, such as assigning a primary workspace owner who can manage access levels and monitor activity to ensure security and compliance. Like OpenAI, Anthropic ensures that it does not use its customers’ data to train its AI models, a key concern for businesses looking to protect their trade secrets.
Although Anthropic has not disclosed the price of Claude Enterprise, it is known to be more expensive than the Team plan, which costs $30 per user per month. However, this plan offers greater capacity and broader limits by comparison. Anthropic has been working in a private beta with companies like GitLab, Midjourney, and Menlo Ventures, but it remains to be seen if Claude Enterprise will achieve widespread adoption in the competitive AI market.
